How is therapeutic massage different from a regular massage?
Most commercial massage businesses offer standard relaxation massage which means every client gets the same routine. You might get some pain relief but it could be from luck more than skill. With qualified therapeutic massage, the therapist is trained to treat specific pain types with advanced techniques, so you are more likely to leave feeling quantifiable pain relief that will last.
What makes you different from other massage clinics that do therapeutic work?
All therapists have individual strengths and their own style, and sometimes those strengths are difficult to quantify. I think what my clients like most about my work is that I really listen, ask questions and strive to solve their puzzles. I am extremely intuitive and can sense what will work even in difficult cases. Some of the maneuvers that I perform I created myself, so I know that no one else does them. I think what I do best is neck work. The neck is a critical area for pain relief in a lot of cases. I cover every strand of cervical muscle in most sessions.

How many times should I come in for therapeutic massage to relieve my pain?
The frequency of visits will depend on several factors including what type of pain you are having and how debilitating it is. All people and symptoms are different so there is no one-size-fits-all answer for this, but most people prefer a monthly frequency.
Will my body be sore after having a therapeutic massage?
Soreness is possible after any massage and some people are more susceptible to it than others. Factors such as general wellness, massage experience and level of pain upon arrival can all make a difference in post-massage discomfort. Soreness is rare and always temporary. The use of an ice pack helps to relieve and prevent it.
What level of disrobing will be expected to receive a therapeutic massage?
I ask people to leave their underwear on, but all other clothing is removed. You will be properly draped (covered with a sheet and blanket) the whole time and nothing considered private will be exposed. This is the same protocol as relaxation massage.
Will I be able to relax during a therapeutic massage? Will it hurt?
Therapeutic massage is clinical treatment in a relaxing setting. Just like with relaxation massage, there is soft music and low lighting. There does not have to be conversation during the massage portion, but there can be. Depending upon your symptoms, there might be some discomfort during the session, but it should not be intolerable. Most of the work will feel good or be feel-good pain. You may speak up if you are uncomfortable in any way.
Do you take any types of insurance?
No, I do not take any type of insurance; however, I can take an HSA or FSA card for an extra $2.00. The extra charge is due to a higher swipe fee. You may request a basic receipt from the payment terminal. If you need an itemized receipt, you may request one and I will email it to you.

Do you have any cost-savings incentives?
The best compliment to a business is to refer a friend or to share a social media post about your good experience. If you can demonstrate that your effort brought a new client in to see me (gift certificate purchase, conversation that led to a booking or social media post that led to an appointment), I will give you a discount on your next massage. Find the social shares button at the bottom of this page and start sharing. State, "Tell them I sent you," and if someone comes in with your name, I will make a note of it. Thank you!
How can I book for the Chanhassen location and is it easier to get in there than Eden Prairie?
If you are female and would like to book in Chanhassen, please join the waitlist and leave a note as to whether you prefer a Monday or Friday and I will get back to you with dates to choose from. It is not typically easier to get onto my Chanhassen calendar but if you are open to both locations, you could get in sooner. You can also text me.
Do you sell gift certificates?
Yes. There are three ways to buy them. If you are with me person for an appointment (no walk-ins) I can sell you a gift card on the spot. If you are remote, you can click here. The program will walk you through the steps to order a certificate and have it emailed to your gift recipient. Thirdly, if you are remote and you prefer to have a physical gift card to hand to your recipient, you can purchase it with that link, email it to yourself, and then text me to request a mailed certificate. I will send you a Pay Link for you to pay an extra $2.00 to cover the card, postage and handling. I will then mail a physical gift card to you or to your recipient with the address that you provide.
