Scope of Service:

Therapeutic massage therapy at Right as Rain Massage, LLC is for the purpose of general wellness and pain relief. It is not intended to be a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis or treatment.

 

Health Disclosures and Consent:

Right as Rain Massage, LLC expects every client to fully disclose their medical history and current conditions at first appointment and thereafter. This includes medical diagnoses from other practitioners, new conditions such as pregnancy, warts, DVT concerns, etc. and current illness that could be contagious. By appearing for an appointment, you are consenting to be touched and treated with therapeutic massage therapy.

 

Appointment Booking:

Clients may book appointments using the featured buttons on Google and business website to be taken to the company’s calendar powered by Square. New clients must select “New Client.” Returning clients must select “Returning Client. Male clients are limited to the Eden Prairie office on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Female clients are welcome to schedule for the Eden Prairie location or the home office in Chanhassen Mondays and Fridays.

Every appointment request is reviewed before acceptance. Your appointment booking is not final until you receive a message from Square that your request has been approved. Right as Rain Massage, LLC will respond to every booking request within 24 hours. Reasons that a request would be denied include wrong location selection (only women are allowed at Chanhassen) or something on the practitioner’s end changed, and the calendar space was not blocked in time. Denied requests are rare, and an explanation will be provided via text message.

The online booking system sends out appointment confirmation requests exactly 48 hours before the start of every session. Clients are expected to respectfully click "confirm" within a reasonable time frame; ideally at first sight. Ignoring the request to confirm, cancel or reschedule outside of the 24-hours minimum window puts clients at risk of a $105 cancellation fee.  Clients are not allowed to opt out of receiving or responding to confirmation requests or the reminders that are sent automatically two hours prior to appointment start times.

Clients must book their own appointments. This pertains to people wishing to gift a massage to a friend or relative without that person’s knowledge. A gift certificate may be purchased, but the recipient must book their session themself as to guarantee they are interested and available to redeem the gift on a certain date.

If a parent wishes to book a massage for their child, this must be agreed upon in advance. In other words, the practitioner must be informed that the person’s name coming through the system for an appointment request is a minor and that the parent is requesting the appointment for that minor. This can be done by calling, texting, or otherwise messaging Emily Hagen or including the information in the notes of the appointment request itself. This matters because the practitioner may opt to do a shortened session (30 minutes instead of 60) which needs to be discussed and agreed upon. Parental consent is required in writing for Right as Rain Massage, LLC for providing massage service to a minor under the age of 18 and the minor must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Right as Rain Massage, LLC will not treat any person under 13 years of age. 

 

Payment:

Payment is due at the time of service.  If an appointment is missed, violating the cancellation policy, the payment is due same day by Venmo or Pay Link (a pay link is an electronic invoice that can be sent via text or email to be paid by credit card over the internet). Right as Rain Massage, LLC accepts all major credit cards (i.e. Visa, Amex, etc.) and debit cards.
 

Right as Rain Massage, LLC only accepts Venmo for bank-to-bank transactions at this time, however Apple Pay and other tap-to-pay cards are accepted. Right as Rain Massage, LLC accepts cash payment but the ability to offer change is extremely limited so please plan to have enough on hand in proper bills. Checks are not accepted. Refunds are not given under any circumstances for massages received or gift cards gone unused.

Right as Rain Massage, LLC does not accept Pay Pal, HSA cards, FSA cards or any type of medical or car insurance.

 

Cancellation Policy:

Right as Rain Massage, LLC requires 48-hours’ notice for cancellations. A service fee of $105 will be assessed if the appointment is cancelled within a 24-hour window or for failure to appear for any reason other than acute illness or emergency involving yourself. Work related and childcare mishaps are not exempt. Payment of cancellation fee is required the same day via Venmo or Pay Link. If a client cancels two massages in a row inside 48 hours, the next massage must be prepaid $105 (non-refundable). The remaining balance is due at session.

 

Lateness Policy:

If a client is late for their appointment time for any reason, five minutes grace will be given. After that, time on the table will be lost and the session will be shortened by the amount of lateness after five minutes. This includes time using the restroom upon arrival. The full price of the session will be assessed, paid in advance or not.

 

Right to Refuse or Stop Service:

Right as Rain Massage, LLC has zero-tolerance for inappropriate, suggestive or illicit behavior. Massage therapy is for the purpose of general wellness and pain relief. Any suggestion of sexual conduct will be immediately called out. The massage will be stopped and full payment collected. Right as Rain Massage, LLC maintains the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason at any time. Massage service is an at-will transaction within a private business. In the same way, clients are not bound to continue with Right as Rain Massage, LLC via contracts or membership agreements. That said, the cancellation policy will always stand for existing appointments.

 

Liability Waiver:

The techniques used by Right as Rain Massage, LLC are standard and commonly used. They involve very little risk, and serious side effects are rare. Soreness is always a possibility even for seasoned clientele. Also, allergic reactions can happen to with the use of massage crème (please note, Right as Rain Massage, LLC uses high-quality massage crème and reactions are extremely rare). Additionally, the use of a Graston tool can create pinkened skin. Minor skin irritations such as bruises (which rarely occur) resolve within a few days.

The intake form includes a waiver that the risks of massage therapy exist and are understood. Whether or not that space is initialed as requested, Right as Rain Massage, LLC is not liable for minor reactions to massage therapy such as soreness, headaches, skin reactions and the like. All medical treatment carries risk, and adverse reactions cannot be anticipated. Open communication is encouraged, and clients are welcome to raise questions or concerns at any time during the session.
